About The Position

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience defining, designing, and implementing solutions to achieve business outcomes by evaluating, diagnosing, and evolving business processes and software technologies, and applying advanced metrics to evaluate economic success in the public cloud.
• Strong SQL skills and demonstrated ability to query and model large-scale billing and usage datasets, including billions of rows daily.
• At least 3 years of experience analyzing or operating software systems at one or more public cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• At least 1 year of experience leading or mentoring other analysts.
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying agentic AI tools or workflows as the primary mechanism for solving business problems, rather than as an addition to manual processes.
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale initiatives with measurable financial impact.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in SQL and large-scale data querying and analysis.
• Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
• Ability to influence without authority at the executive level and drive alignment across teams, functions, and leadership levels.
• Strong track record of mentoring junior team members and improving team-wide practices.
• Comfort operating autonomously in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.

Nice To Haves

• Direct experience working at a hyperscale cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Prior experience specifically in a FinOps role or function.
• Hands-on experience building or deploying AI agents, rather than only using AI tools.
• Background in pricing strategy and cost optimization at scale.
• Advanced degree, such as an MBA.
• Familiarity with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau, in addition to Excel or Google Sheets.
• Six Sigma certification or an equivalent process-excellence credential.

Responsibilities

• Partner with finance and engineering leadership on cloud cost governance and forecasting across AWS and GCP.
• Analyze and model large-scale cloud billing and usage datasets, including datasets with billions of rows daily.
• Design processes, workflows, and reporting with an agent-first approach, assessing whether AI agents can own them end to end.
• Deploy and continuously refine agentic AI tools that monitor spend, flag anomalies, and execute cost-optimization actions.
• Architect governance frameworks that enable agents to operate safely and independently.
• Lead enterprise-scale initiatives with measurable financial impact.
• Mentor junior and mid-level analysts and elevate team-wide practices.
• Represent FinOps in cross-organizational initiatives and influence alignment across teams.
