About The Position

The Business Intelligence Analyst designs, develops, and maintains metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards used to support business decisions. The role ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality of business intelligence reporting and user data, and implements new reports within established frameworks, policies, and procedures. The analyst works with business intelligence managers, colleagues, and users to assess reporting needs, analyze data, and develop appropriate reporting solutions. Responsibilities include extracting data from various information systems, developing recurring and ad hoc reports, cubes, and dashboards, supporting data warehouses and other data sources, and training users to access and make use of business intelligence systems. The role uses SQL, Python, and Tableau or Power BI.

Requirements

Knowledge and skills in SQL, Python, and Tableau or Power BI.
Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in the role’s discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
Knowledge of best practices and how the role’s area integrates with others; awareness of competition and market differentiators.
Ability to solve complex problems, take new perspectives on existing solutions, and exercise judgment using multiple sources of information.
Ability to explain difficult or sensitive information and build consensus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards used to drive business decisions.
Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality of managerial and business intelligence reports, views, dashboards, and user data within established controls.
Implement new business reports according to established reporting frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Train and support end users in accessing reports and educate the user community about potential uses of the business intelligence system.
Analyze and interpret data and business intelligence reports.
Work with others to develop data warehouses and other data sources supporting managerial and business intelligence reporting needs.
Work with the business intelligence manager and other staff to assess reporting needs.
Analyze reporting requirements, evaluate existing reporting against strategic goals, and devise plans for appropriate reporting solutions.
Extract financial, statistical, and other data from information systems and other sources.
Design and develop recurring and ad hoc business intelligence solutions, including reports, cubes, and dashboards, using industry best practices for presentation, efficiency, and user friendliness.
Design reports that help users efficiently assimilate data, including through exception reporting.
