Business Intelligence Analyst
About The Position
HexArmor is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join its Revenue Operations team. The role supports how the business measures performance and plans ahead, serving as an analytical resource for Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations. Reporting to the Director of Revenue Operations, the analyst will help build forecasting capabilities while working alongside the data engineering team and using AI tools to accelerate analytical work. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and able to explain data insights to non-technical audiences. The position is based at HexArmor’s corporate headquarters at 640 Leffingwell Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role involves developing and maintaining Tableau dashboards and reports, writing SQL against the company data warehouse, conducting exploratory and statistical analysis, and developing demand, revenue, and sales forecasts. It also involves measuring forecast accuracy, supporting planning and business reviews, contributing to data pipelines and machine learning work with data engineering, and evaluating emerging analytical technologies and approaches.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Finance, or Economics.
- Demonstrated experience in a business intelligence, analytics, or reporting role.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience building and maintaining Tableau dashboards.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or a comparable cloud data platform, and comfort handling large, imperfect datasets.
- Experience building or maintaining forecasts in a business setting.
- Familiarity with time-series and regression-based forecasting methods.
- Working knowledge of Python or R and a practical understanding of machine learning concepts sufficient to contribute alongside data engineering.
- Experience using AI tools to improve analytical workflows and support development of reports, dashboards, and models.
- Up-to-date knowledge of best practices in business intelligence, forecasting, and applied AI.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
- Ability to translate technical results into clear business recommendations for a non-technical audience.
- Dependable, hardworking problem solver and team player with excellent verbal and communication skills, high performance standards, and willingness to pivot when needed to complete crucial business tasks.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports that show performance against plan and support ad hoc analysis.
- Write and optimize SQL queries against the company data warehouse.
- Define and document core business metrics to maintain consistent reporting across teams.
- Conduct exploratory and statistical analyses, including trend, variance, segmentation, and cohort analysis.
- Prepare analysis and recommended actions for monthly and quarterly business reviews.
- Develop and maintain demand, revenue, and sales forecasts by product, customer, channel, and region.
- Measure forecast accuracy, investigate differences between forecasts and actual results, and refine forecasting methods.
- Support annual planning, budgeting, and sales and operations planning.
- Use AI tools to accelerate report, dashboard, and model development, including SQL generation and review, visualization prototyping, documentation, and validation.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort in recurring workflows.
- Assist the data engineering team with dataset and pipeline development by helping define data requirements, validate outputs, and quality-check new data sources.
- Assist the data engineering team in developing, testing, and evaluating machine learning models for reporting and forecasting.
- Partner with the data engineering team on data quality and governance standards.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and analytical approaches, and provide perspective on their potential adoption.
