About The Position
Energy Transfer is hiring a Supervisor – Plant Accountant for its Midstream Accounting team in Oklahoma City. The Midstream Revenue Accounting team connects commercial agreements, operational activities, and financial reporting across the midstream business. It is responsible for accurate and timely settlement, billing, revenue recognition, and reporting of services provided to producers and customers. Through financial controls, contract compliance, and cross-functional collaboration, the team safeguards revenue integrity and provides reliable financial information to management and stakeholders. The supervisor analyzes midstream contracts and commercial agreements, reviews customer settlements and adjustments, supports revenue-related issue resolution, and maintains SOX controls. The role also develops staff, supports audits, and leads process improvement and automation initiatives. The work is usually performed in normal office conditions. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, including manufacturing, cost accounting, or plant accounting experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience gathering, reviewing, processing, and maintaining contracts and contract-related financial information.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret complex midstream contracts and commercial agreements to ensure correct settlement with producers and shippers.
- Review customer settlement calculations and adjustments, and assist with customer disputes and revenue-related issues.
- Maintain and strengthen SOX controls over revenue processes by developing standardized procedures and documentation.
- Develop staff through training, knowledge sharing, succession planning, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
- Lead initiatives to improve revenue accounting processes and system automation.
- Build trusted relationships across teams and functions and serve as a reliable advocate and role model for direct reports.
- Lead meetings, resolve complex issues, and drive results with minimal oversight.
- Communicate leadership’s vision, align team goals with organizational priorities, and contribute forward-thinking ideas.
- Foster a positive, inclusive team environment through active listening, direct communication, and support for diverse perspectives.
- Champion change and continuous improvement by developing team capabilities, providing coaching, and recognizing contributions.
- Set clear expectations, follow through on commitments, and ensure team alignment while maintaining integrity and accountability.
