About The Position

Cowan is seeking a Senior Accountant in Baltimore to participate in close processes, including preparing internal reporting and performing in-depth variance analysis. The Senior Accountant will prepare period-end journal entries, perform analytical review procedures during monthly close, and prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts. The role is also responsible for several accounting areas, including goodwill, equity, share-based compensation, intercompany transactions and balances, and foreign currency. Additional work includes assessing control procedures, preparing external financial reporting, implementing new accounting standards, and developing, documenting, and implementing procedures that support timely and accurate financial information.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Four to six years of accounting or auditing experience.
Experience with ERP systems, such as Oracle.

Nice To Haves

CPA preferred.
Public accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage accounting for goodwill, equity, share-based compensation, intercompany transactions and balances, and foreign currency.
Review and post journal entries during period-end close processes.
