About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills, including the ability to engage and interact effectively with minors.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to provide emotional support to minors through different developmental stages.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience and proficiency using office machines, including computers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Proficiency using desktop and laptop computers, internet search, people management programs, smartphones, tablets, printers, fax machines, photocopiers, and word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
• Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability.
• Sensitivity to cultural diversity.
• Enthusiastic self-starter with strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Perform work consistently with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies.
• Build trusting, supportive relationships with youth and help them achieve identified goals.
• Provide appropriate leadership to youth during the program.
• Provide a warm, caring, and safe atmosphere for youth.
• Report problems that arise to the Out of School Coordinator.
• Prepare activities and rooms for the program.
• Complete required training promptly in accordance with state, contract, and licensing agency standards.
• Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintain a positive attitude toward youth, coworkers, families, and others involved with the program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
