About The Position
This position at Lowe's involves coordinating outbound shipping operations within a warehouse environment. The role is crucial for ensuring efficient and accurate loading of trailers, managing the work queue for associates, and resolving any system issues related to outbound shipments. It also includes handling special order sales and vendor cross-dock activities, as well as planning and allocating carrier loads to support store inventory needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in distribution center operations and traffic control
- Experience using troubleshooting processes to resolve problems
- Experience working in a customer-facing role
- Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with software applications such as Excel, Access or Lowe's warehouse management system
Responsibilities
- Identifies trailers to be loaded for shipping and sets up work queue in the warehouse management system for associates to execute; prioritizes trailers based on store demand
- Verifies trailers are accurate by reviewing the bill of lading (BOL)
- Sets up associates for success; allocates sufficient loads for next day so that associates can start immediately with no delay
- Resolves any issues in the warehouse management system regarding outbound shipments
- Updates and prints special order sales tickets from system
- Manages all vendor cross-dock and special order sales
- Complete all requirements needed to plan, assign carrier loads, build loads, and allocate based on demand and need of the facility and stores to support in-stocks
