This is a Long Term Substitute position for a High School English Teacher, 1.0 FTE, for the 26/27 school year. The teacher will meet and instruct high-school students in English, plan a program of study that meets individual student needs, create a conducive learning environment, and strive to implement the district’s philosophy of education. Responsibilities include assessing student accomplishments, protecting students and school property, maintaining accurate records, and assisting the administration in implementing policies. The teacher will also plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, and strive to improve professional competence by attending staff meetings and serving on committees. The role involves teaching English, instructing pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter, developing lesson plans, providing individualized instruction, and establishing standards of pupil behavior. The teacher will evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, communicate with parents, identify pupil needs, and cooperate with other staff members. Professional competence is to be maintained through in-service education and self-selected growth activities. All other duties as assigned.
