About The Position
The High School Building Substitute Teacher works at Victory College Prep (VCP) High School and reports to the VCP High School Principal. The role follows teacher-created lesson plans, maintains classroom structure and routines, delivers academic content through varied instructional strategies, communicates with student families, and builds positive relationships with students using restorative practices. Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Substitute teaching license, or willingness to obtain one when hired.
- Collaborative and proactive approach to teaching.
- Competency in using technology in the classroom.
- Ability to report to work regularly and punctually.

- Ability to follow an age-appropriate curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans created by the teacher.
- Implement classroom procedures, systems, and routines that provide structure for students and maximize instructional time.
- Present academic content through a variety of instructional strategies to reach all learners.
- Communicate frequently and effectively with student families, promptly returning phone calls and answering emails.
- Proactively build meaningful, positive relationships with all students.
- Use restorative practices to build a positive classroom culture.
