About The Position
Sphinx is hiring a Corporate Security Manager (FSO/CSSO) to lead and mature industrial, program, personnel, and physical security operations supporting its growing portfolio of national security and space programs. The role serves as both a Facility Security Officer (FSO) and a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), supporting programs at all classification levels and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, contractual, and federal security requirements, including SCI and SAP requirements. The manager will oversee security operations across company facilities and programs, serve as the COMSEC Responsible Officer, work with government security organizations and systems, and partner with program and company leadership to manage security risks. The role also supports inspections, audits, assessments, incident reporting, corrective actions, and the establishment and ongoing operation of classified facilities. This is a hybrid position based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with approximately 15% travel to company meetings and customer site visits.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience supporting security operations in defense, intelligence, aerospace, or another highly regulated national security environment.
- Experience serving as an FSO, CSSO, Program Security Officer/Representative, Personnel Security Lead, or in a comparable security leadership role.
- Qualified or prepared to serve as a COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO).
- Strong knowledge of DoD and federal security requirements governing classified facilities, personnel, information, and programs.
- Hands-on experience supporting SCI environments and demonstrated knowledge of and experience with SAP security requirements and operations.
- Experience with government security and clearance systems such as NISS, JPAS, DISS, Scattered Castles, JADE, and related DoD/IC and SAP systems.
- Experience managing personnel security processes, classified access, security documentation, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance and eligibility to hold and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to work independently in a growing organization where security processes and infrastructure may need to scale.

Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day personnel and physical security operations for Sphinx facilities and programs.
- Serve as the organization’s COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) and oversee COMSEC requirements for classified programs.
- Maintain compliance with applicable DoD, Intelligence Community, contractual, and federal security requirements, including SCI and SAP requirements.
- Oversee personnel security activities, including clearance processing, access eligibility, briefings and debriefings, visit requests, and security documentation.
- Interface with government security organizations and systems, particularly those supporting the Department of the Air Force.
- Support security inspections, audits, assessments, incident reporting, and corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, training, and documentation for classified operations.
- Partner with program and company leadership to identify security risks and incorporate security requirements into program execution.
- Support the establishment, accreditation, and ongoing operation of new classified facilities.
- Mature Sphinx’s industrial and program security functions and scale security processes, plans, and posture as the company grows.
