About The Position
Monument Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, patient-focused care in a fast-paced work environment. The RN facilitates relationship-centered, high-quality care through competent clinical practice and application of professional nursing principles. The role contributes to preventing or resolving illness, disability, and injury; alleviating suffering; and advocating for patients in collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, families, and support systems. The RN exercises independent judgment through the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care in accordance with ANA standards, organizational policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. The role supports Monument Health’s purpose, vision, and values and uses organizational technology and software to document care and access work-related applications. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for qualified candidates.
Requirements
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.
- Registered Nurse (RN) credential through the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire or transfer.
- Ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.
Nice To Haves
- Five or more years of Registered Nurse experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Collect comprehensive data relevant to the healthcare consumer’s health and situation.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
- Identify expected outcomes and develop an individualized plan of care with strategies to achieve those outcomes.
- Implement the identified plan and ensure patient progression along the plan.
- Coordinate care delivery.
- Use health teaching and health promotion strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Evaluate progress toward desired outcomes.
- Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and maintain knowledge and competency consistent with current practice.
- Evaluate personal nursing practice against professional standards, guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and others in nursing practice.
- Integrate ethical provisions and research findings into practice.
- Consider safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact when planning and delivering nursing services.
- Provide leadership in the professional practice setting and profession.
- Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner and comply with applicable nursing laws, standards, policies, and the ANA Code of Ethics.
- Use applicable technology and software to support and document nursing activities and patient care, and access work-related organizational applications.
- Seek opportunities to improve the quality of patient care through innovative and creative problem-solving.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
