Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active RN license in the state of Utah
  • 3+ years of nursing experience, including experience in psychiatric/mental health
  • 1+ year of leadership or Embark Nursing experience.
  • CAQH profile and NPI number (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and crisis management skills
  • A heart for adolescents and a commitment to trauma-informed care

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the selection, training, evaluation, and discipline of RN Nurse team.
  • Respond to parent inquiries promptly and professionally, maintaining transparent and effective communication.
  • Monitor the Nurses’ Station for cleanliness and safety, creating a conducive environment for medical care.
  • Actively participate in weekly interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings, providing valuable insights and updates.
  • Respond swiftly to reports of pain or sickness, assess students, and make informed decisions on necessary actions.
  • Determine when a student requires placement on sick bed due to illness or pain, prioritizing their well-being.
  • Accompany students to medical appointments, effectively communicating findings and updates to parents.
  • Check vital signs and weight of students as assigned, ensuring accurate and consistent healthcare documentation.
  • Accurately dispense student medications, meticulously recording details in the Medication Administration Record.
  • Count and track narcotics every shift, maintaining a stringent and secure medication management system.
  • Monitor students’ mood, behavior, and affect, particularly during new medication introductions, and document findings.
  • Correlate lab draws for students, contributing to comprehensive healthcare records.
  • Effectively communicate pertinent medical information to the Treatment Team and Psychiatrist, facilitating collaborative patient care.
