About The Position

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience, or a minimum of one year of on-the-job training.

Nice To Haves

• Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for patients within the PACU scope of services.
• Coordinate postoperative patient care with the surgeon and anesthesiologist.
• Direct and guide other personnel while maintaining PACU standards of care.
• Communicate changes in patients’ clinical conditions to physicians, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptoms.
• Collaborate with departments and coworkers to provide quality care, efficient patient flow, and unit maintenance and organization.
• Adhere to regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services.
• Act as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.
