Orlando Healthās Interventional Radiology (IR) Department utilizes advanced imaging technologies such as X-ray, CT, and ultrasound to perform minimally invasive procedures, offering patients shorter recovery times and fewer complications compared to traditional surgery. The IR team specializes in a variety of procedures including feeding and drainage tube placement, neuro-interventional services, venous access (ports, tunneled lines), tumor ablations, biopsies, and a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Their expertise also extends to embolization for emergent trauma patients and stroke intervention (thrombectomy). The ideal Registered Nurse for this role will thrive in a fast-paced environment, providing specialized nursing support across pre, post, and intraprocedural settings for diverse IR procedures. This role requires strong critical-thinking skills, proficiency in IV starts, port access, and administering moderate sedation. The RN must exhibit excellent assessment and troubleshooting skills for complex medical conditions related to planned procedures, and be capable of independently managing patients before, during, and after procedures, recognizing critical-care needs and potential complications while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
