About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and directs and guides patient and family teaching, as well as activities of other nursing personnel, while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. The nurse is directly responsible and accountable for care provided to assigned patients. They communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

This full-time position is based at Prime Healthcare St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois. The schedule is days, 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., consisting of three 12-hour shifts. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current certification.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
