About The Position

The Charge Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health position at Texas Health Dallas is for a PRN (as needed) role, working day shifts (7a - 7p) in the Behavioral Health Department. This department features a busy outpatient clinic with Partial Hospital Programs and Intensive Out-Patient Programs, serving adults with co-occurring behavioral health and chemical dependency needs. The role offers self-scheduling for work/life balance, opportunities for educational and career growth, and a collaborative work environment within a great team. Texas Health Dallas is an 875-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital serving the community since 1966, specializing in cancer care, cardiology, neurosciences, women’s services, and emergency medicine. It is also a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, a Comprehensive Stroke and Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, a Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, a Level I Trauma Center, and a Comprehensive Heart Attack Center. Requirements

  • Associate degree Nursing required
  • 1 Year of experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required
  • RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – Advance Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
  • PALS – Pediatric Advances Life Support within 90 days required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 60 days of hire
  • TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months of hire required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
  • 2 years of experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred

  • Communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team
  • Support and actively participate in shared governance/councils which is Texas Health’s structure for decision making
  • Be committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development
  • Assist leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed
