Registered Nurse Jobs

The Registered Nurse will work on Johnson 6, a 37-bed medical unit serving patients aged 16 and older with chronic medical conditions. The unit has private rooms, three four-bed rooms that can be used for overflow during elevated census, and a negative-pressure room. The unit is also configured to support behavioral health patients who may be on suicide precautions, including placement in private rooms near the nurses’ station for close monitoring. Patients are admitted from services including internal medicine, medical oncology, hospice, infectious disease, behavioral health, thoracic surgery, and renal. Common conditions include pancreatitis, cerebrovascular accident, dementia, delirium, failure to thrive, cancer, and substance-use issues. Nursing care may address nutritional deficits, fall risk and other safety needs, skin integrity, body-image changes, cellulitis, pain management, and powerlessness. Nurses collaborate with the unit-based pharmacist, available on weekdays during the day shift, to support complex pharmaceutical interventions and provider order management. This position is 32 hours per week on the evening shift. The role requires a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license, graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and BCLS. A BSN is preferred. The position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, and staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
