About The Position

Huntington Beach Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. The hospital is a 131-bed acute-care community hospital and a member of the Prime Healthcare Foundation. The Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and provides direct care within the scope of practice. The role includes guiding patient and family education and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The nurse is accountable for assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic results, and symptoms. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient's condition or response to treatment.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN license.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain certification.
  • Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain certification.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous acute-care hospital experience.
  • Ventilator management experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
  • Maintain standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
  • Remain accountable for the care of assigned patients.
  • Communicate with physicians about changes in clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
