About The Position
Huntington Beach Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Medical/Surgical Unit. The RN delivers safe, direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse directs and guides patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the unit. The RN is directly responsible and accountable for care provided to assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms. The role requires responding quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment. Huntington Beach Hospital is a 131-bed acute-care community hospital, a member of the Prime Healthcare Foundation, and the only hospital in Huntington Beach. Founded in 1967, it is accredited by The Joint Commission and has nearly 200 physicians and more than 400 healthcare and other professionals on staff.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it current.
Nice To Haves
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained current (preferred).
- Previous acute-care hospital experience (preferred).
- Ventilator management experience (preferred).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
- Maintain standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
- Remain directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment.
