About The Position

The Quality Manager will administer, process, and evaluate mill and customer rejects, manage quality planning functions, ensure effective implementation of control plans and FMEAs, manage the application of statistical tools, and communicate with various departments and customers regarding quality issues. This role also involves assisting in training personnel, interacting with customers, representing the facility during audits, and performing other assigned duties. Requirements

  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with safety rules and requirements.
  • Knowledge of ISO and IATF16949 standards.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, production methods, and performance objectives.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Ability to accurately use tape measures, Rockwell tester, micrometers and calipers.
  • Ability to read and understand material tags and production instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to see details at close range.
  • Ability to correctly retrieve and input data using a computer.
  • Ability to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in a related field.
  • Two to four years of quality experience in an industrial environment.
  • Formal education may be substituted with experience and training when competency in the position is demonstrated.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, process and evaluate mill and customer rejects, including reviewing scrap and rejects to identify root cause(s), initiating corrective action, reassigning denied/non-conforming product, and generating mill debits and credits, and reject notifications.
  • Manage quality planning functions, including maintenance of facility quality documentation, and assistance in APQP and/or PPAP submissions.
  • Ensure effective implementation of control plans and FMEAs.
  • Manage the application of statistical tools, controls IMTE requirements, ensuring calibrated equipment and MSA applications.
  • Communicate with operators, leadership, tech services, sales, and purchasing regarding quality issues.
  • Assist in the training of personnel on customer quality requirements and rejects.
  • Interact with customers and Outside Sales for resolutions of quality concerns and assist with customer quality visits.
  • Represent facility during internal/external quality audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
