About The Position

Requirements

• A related degree from an accredited university or college, such as Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or Project Management, with the following qualified experience: six years with an associate degree or four years with a bachelor's degree.
• Qualified experience must include project management and business or financial administration activities and responsibilities.
• Demonstrated preparedness for journey-level Project Management knowledge in construction safety, negotiations, scope development and control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls and reporting, quality control, and risk management.
• Ability to understand and support AEP policies, values, principles, structure, and behavior.
• Clear understanding of typical Project Control methods and procedures consistent with Project Management Institute PMBOK methodologies.
• Ability to provide effective leadership, team building, and meeting management consistent with PMBOK, AEP leadership competencies, and AEP values.
• Ability to safely and effectively perform light physical duties at various work sites in varying conditions.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience as a Product Manager (Grade 7), or demonstrated competencies, knowledge, and skills through results achieved in a shorter time.
• Experience in project management, major construction field work, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, or comparable experience in an engineering or construction environment.
• Knowledge of negotiations, scope development and control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls and reporting, quality control, and risk management.
• Human resource administration and supervisory experience, beneficial for advancement to Quality Service Product Manager Principal (Grade 009).
• Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Business Analysis (PBA), AACE, American Society for Quality (ASQ), or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the strategic product vision and roadmap.
• Serve as the Business Unit Product Owner and manage the product lifecycle from planning through execution.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data in Project Management applications.
• Develop frameworks for enforcing data integrity rules during data entry and provide data variance reports to identify anomalies.
• Apply data analytics techniques and perform quality audits to assess compliance with organizational and project-specific policies, processes, and procedures.
• Recommend and implement quality and process improvements.
• Develop an understanding of AEP project management standards and help manage projects in accordance with those standards and Project Management Governance Committee guidance.
• Monitor Project Management Teams’ adherence to the approved project delivery model.
• Ensure the Project Management Team coordinates to establish the original baseline and time-phased budgets and completes baseline approval processes according to the project delivery model.
• Collaborate with departments and groups to define and monitor macro- and micro-level performance metrics.
• Provide objective review of whether metrics are driving appropriate behavior across the organization.
• Collaborate within the department to align cost and schedule processes.
• Provide clear, concise written status reports to relevant groups and leaders.
• Provide training support to Project Management and other departments affected by departmental policies and processes.
• As applicable, create and prioritize product backlogs, represent the customer for the assigned product, identify and analyze stakeholders, and assist with organizational change management planning.
• Provide leadership, team building, and meeting management.
