Responsible for supporting and assisting professional painters in their daily tasks. This includes using, supplying, and holding materials or tools for the Painter, cleaning the work area, and setting up parts to paint. The role involves applying knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques, using spray painting equipment, power tools, and work aids. The Painter Assistant must know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures, as well as department-specific policies. Key duties include stripping, sanding, masking, and touching up surfaces, blending finishes to match surrounding areas, and regulating equipment controls for paint curing and drying. The role also requires cleaning spraying equipment and brushes with solvent, monitoring and verifying quality against industry standards, and recording paint usage for environmental reporting. Additionally, the Painter Assistant will record the completion of painting operations, maintain a safe and clean working environment, report to work on time, follow instructions, interact well with co-workers, and understand work rules. Crosstraining in different department processes and cleaning the site after painting work are also expected. Other various duties as needed or assigned.
