About The Position

The Aircraft Painter I prepares aircraft for paint-related operations, performing tasks safely and within schedule while meeting quality expectations. This is an entry-level, second-shift weekday evening position at Gulfstream's Westfield location. The role requires preparing aircraft for paint application, working with paint and primer products and equipment, and complying with safety, housekeeping, and paint-shop practices. The position may require travel up to 25%.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
Ability to pass a Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification.
Ability to use tools, equipment, and materials in the aircraft painting process.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs, perform close-tolerance work, work in small spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
Computer literacy.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

Experience in paint processes.
Working knowledge of paint processes and products, including lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics.

Responsibilities

Mask, sand, and prepare aircraft for paint application.
Apply glazing and sealing compounds in preparation for final painting.
Operate and maintain preparation and priming equipment.
Mix paints and primers.
Perform leading-edge sealant work in final detail.
Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies.
Use personal protective equipment and ensure the aircraft interior is protected (PTP).
Care for and maintain assigned shop equipment and tools.
Comply with Paint Shop standard practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
