About The Position

The Painter supports the greenhouses by painting and repainting throughout the facility. The work is primarily outdoors and may involve moving between locations or performing administrative duties in an indoor office environment. The position spends most of the shift working at heights over five feet and in both hot and cool temperatures. Employees may also be required to work evenings and weekends as business needs arise and during peak seasons. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• Be self-motivated and able to work without supervision at times.
• Be willing to work at heights; experience using aerial equipment is helpful, or the candidate must be willing to be trained.
• Have attention to detail.
• Have clear verbal communication skills.
• Be able to read, write, and understand English.
• Be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens.
• Be able to stand, sit, squat, kneel, bend, reach, and twist for extended periods on a regular basis.
• Be able to operate machinery necessary within the department and across the facility.
• Be able to lift 35 pounds unaided and regularly lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

• Some knowledge of and experience with paint and paint supplies.
• Forklift experience, or willingness to be trained.
• Experience operating table movers, or willingness to be trained.

Responsibilities

• Paint areas throughout the facility, including poles, walls, floor lines, pipes, and cars.
• Complete tasks daily through a work order system.
• Maintain a detailed inventory of supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
