About The Position

The Feed Mill Operator executes daily production and load-out goals according to established daily and weekly feed order levels. The role ensures the proper use, upkeep, and maintenance of feed mill equipment, meets productivity goals, and cross-trains across mill manufacturing functions. It also emphasizes high standards of customer service and collaboration with other departments. The operator follows safety, equipment, and housekeeping procedures; produces swine feed to established quality guidelines; performs quality assurance tests and adjusts the grinding process as needed; and operates load-out equipment to load trucks efficiently. The position also involves documenting batching, grinding, load-out, and ingredient receiving; assisting with warehouse operations and preventive maintenance; managing feed and load-out schedules and bin utilization; and performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school education.
  • Entry-level experience; 0–1 year of prior job experience.
  • Cooperative attitude and teamwork approach.
  • Pride in quality of work; reliability and responsibility.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive customer service mindset.
  • Understanding of computer usage.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Ability to operate large machinery.

Nice To Haves

  • Class A CDL preferred but not required; training and assistance are available to help qualified candidates obtain a CDL.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety, equipment, and housekeeping procedures and support feed mill safety initiatives.
  • Operate machinery to produce swine feed according to established quality guidelines.
  • Perform quality assurance tests and adjust the grinding process to achieve acceptable quality.
  • Operate load-out equipment to load trucks efficiently.
  • Perform and monitor documentation of batching, grinding, load-out, and ingredient receiving.
  • Assist with warehouse operations as needed.
  • Follow defined guidelines for producing quality feed.
  • Assist with routine preventive maintenance on feed mill equipment and maintain required documentation.
  • Manage feed and load-out scheduling and bin utilization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively across departments and maintain a positive customer service mindset.
