(USA) Packing Operator, Manufacturing
About The Position
The Packing Operator supports manufacturing production operations by preparing workstations with the required products and packaging materials and rotating among packing tasks. Tasks include operating bagger and debagger stations, setting up and running label machines while monitoring barcoding systems, and overseeing tray packaging machines. The operator performs safe, efficient changeovers; monitors conveyor lines for damaged bottles; inspects product quality and verifies samples against specifications; and records production or quality data. The role requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety and quality system requirements, as well as maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe work area. The operator communicates with departments, management, and associates, promptly escalating issues that could affect production efficiency or food safety and quality. The position also calls for continuous improvement, collaboration, adaptability, and conduct consistent with Walmart’s values, policies, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Responsibilities

- Complete equipment changeovers safely and efficiently.
- Visually monitor conveyor lines for damaged bottles.
- Perform quality inspections and verify that samples meet specifications.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety and quality system requirements.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe workspace according to company policies and procedures.
- Communicate with departments, management, and associates, and promptly report issues or concerns that may hinder production efficiency.
- Immediately report food safety or quality issues to management.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancement and support continuous improvement.
- Record production and/or quality data.
- Complete work assignments and priorities using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners; communicate progress; and adapt to change and feedback.
- Contribute to an inclusive and supportive workplace, build trusting team relationships, and help develop and recognize others.
