About The Position

The Call Center Operator secures patient meal selections and special requests or needs through telephone or face-to-face interactions. The role is based at Cleveland Clinic – Marymount in Garfield Heights, Ohio, with shifts listed as 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. The position is part-time and pays $17.00–$19.00 per hour. Some call center or food service experience is required. The operator communicates with patients, visitors, healthcare professionals, and nursing staff to help ensure patients’ food needs and diet prescriptions are accurately addressed. The role follows dietary, confidentiality, food safety, sanitation, reporting, and service procedures, and also performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Follow proper telephone etiquette and procedures when interacting with patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
Offer menu alternatives consistent with prescribed diets, food allergies and sensitivities, and cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
Respond to patients’ needs and resolve concerns or complaints promptly, or report requests for assistance to a supervisor as appropriate.
Follow dietary restrictions for special and modified diets while meeting food preferences within diet-order limitations.
Coordinate with nursing to ensure diet prescriptions are accurate and patients’ food needs are met.
Follow facility confidentiality and patient-rights policies, including HIPAA policies and procedures.
Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
Follow HACCP guidelines when assembling and distributing food supplies.
Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly reports on time and meet prescribed deadlines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
