About The Position

Requirements

• Some experience in food preparation and kitchen maintenance is preferred; demonstrated dependability and cleanliness.
• Possession of a valid Food Handler Authorization Card issued by the County of Department of Public Health.
• Food Handler's Certificate
• Letter of Recommendation - 1 (within the last year and preferably from most recent employer)
• Resume
• Mandatory written test for this classification on August 25, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
• Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screening test, fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice and FBI, and a current verification of a negative T.B. test or chest x-ray.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and prepares food for cooking.
• May cook main entries, soups, vegetables, gravies, meat dishes, bakes bread, rolls, pastries, salad, sandwiches and other foods.
• Assists in preparing main dishes, salads, fruits and sandwiches.
• Assists in baking cookies, cakes or bread.
• To do related work as required.
