About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner provides direct, trauma-informed care to patients with substance use disorders in Corona, Queens, New York. In collaboration with the Medical Director and Behavioral Health leadership, the role supports expanded access to care and patients’ recovery journeys. Responsibilities include assessing patients, managing treatment plans, prescribing medications such as buprenorphine and naltrexone, coordinating HIV and hepatitis C screenings and medical referrals for high-risk populations, and working with a multidisciplinary team of mental health clinicians, peers, and care managers. The Nurse Practitioner also provides education and advocacy related to health, wellness, and prevention. This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The posting also notes flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, if preferred.

Requirements

  • NYS Nurse Practitioner license and NYSED certification.
  • DATA 2000 waiver (X-waiver).
  • NYS Prescriptive Authority.
  • Experience or interest in addiction medicine and behavioral health.
  • Collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and genuine empathy.
