About The Position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Dosing assists in delivering patient care in a correctional healthcare setting through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Under the direction of healthcare practitioners, the LVN supports patient care activities, provides patient education, and implements treatment plans. The role administers medications, performs clinical procedures, and monitors patient care in accordance with established protocols and nursing practice standards. The LVN guides care activities consistent with demonstrated competencies and the Nursing Practice Act.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state employed.
- Current CPR certification.

- One (1) or more years of clinic experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient assessments, care planning, and implementation of individualized treatment plans under the direction of healthcare practitioners.
- Administer medications, perform laboratory testing and drug screens, and obtain diagnostic tests in accordance with orders and protocols.
- Maintain controlled substance counts and complete required medication administration and inventory documentation.
- Respond to health emergencies, apply safety procedures, and assist with medical and minor surgical procedures as needed.
- Document nursing encounters and communicate patient information with healthcare providers and care team members.
