Per Diem Clinical Research Nurse - Home Visits
About The Position
Science 37’s Nursing Solutions Group organizes, plans, and implements mobile clinical nursing services for clinical-trial participants. The group collaborates with clinicians, clinical researchers, patient recruitment specialists, data managers, and technology developers throughout the trial life cycle, from protocol development and feasibility analysis through implementation and closeout. The Per Diem Mobile Research Nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides care to clinical-trial participants, primarily through visits to their homes, and may collaborate with traditional clinical sites when needed. The nurse works independently and with the Nursing Solutions Group to deliver care in compliance with federal and state regulations, Good Clinical Practice, and Standard Operating Procedures. This travel role involves minimal supervision and reports to the Manager, Nursing Solutions Group. The role requires at least one to two days per week dedicated to study visits, weekday and night availability, and travel of up to 100% as needed for participant visits, project meetings, and other professional meetings or conferences. The starting pay range is generally $50–$55 per hour, depending on location and work performed. Additional discretionary bonuses and commissions may be available; actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the home state and eligibility for Compact Licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active driver’s license.
- Availability for weekdays and nights, with at least one to two days per week dedicated to study visits.
- Willingness to travel to participants’ homes; travel may be up to 100% as needed for participant visits and professional meetings.
- Ability to obtain nursing licensure in multiple states based on study needs.
- Physical ability to perform nursing tasks and lift equipment weighing up to 15 kg.
- Access to a reliable vehicle for participant visits and equipment transport.
- Ability to drive to local and/or remote locations for participant visits.
- Ability to use technology effectively for participant assessments and documentation, including study care equipment, laptop computers, communication devices, and tablets.
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- Full COVID vaccination strongly preferred; Science 37 follows CDC vaccination recommendations, which may change.
- At least two years of clinical or research experience preferred.
- Experience across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Ability to work independently and integrate well with the Nursing Solutions Group.
- Interest or expertise in Science 37’s decentralized model of care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide research nursing services to qualified study participants at home.
- Apply clinical research and nursing practices to develop solutions to complex problems.
- Collaborate with Lead and Per Diem Mobile Research Nurses on solutioning, education, and resource support.
- Participate in activities that further develop Science 37’s nursing service operations.
- Build relationships with study team members and serve as the subject matter expert on nursing processes.
- Represent the company positively in participants’ homes and clinic settings.
- Perform other duties as assigned as the needs of Science 37 evolve.
