Per Diem Clinical Research Nurse - Home Visits
About The Position
Science 37’s Nursing Solutions Group provides mobile clinical nursing services throughout the clinical trial life cycle, from protocol development and feasibility analysis through implementation and closeout. The Per Diem Mobile Research Nurse is a Registered Nurse who works independently across multiple therapeutic areas and collaborates with the Nursing Solutions Group and, when indicated, brick-and-mortar sites to support decentralized clinical trial care delivery. The nurse provides care to clinical trial participants, including through on-site visits to participants’ homes, and ensures professional care delivery in compliance with federal and state regulations, Good Clinical Practice, and Standard Operating Procedures. This travel role requires at least 1–2 days per week dedicated to study visits, weekday and nighttime availability, and travel of up to 100% as needed. The position involves minimal supervision and reports to the Manager, Nursing Solutions Group.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the home state and eligibility for Compact Licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active driver’s license.
- Availability on weekdays and at night.
- Willingness to travel to participants’ homes; travel may be up to 100% as needed.
- At least 1–2 days per week dedicated to supporting Science 37 study visits.
- Ability to obtain nursing licenses in multiple states based on study needs.
- Physical ability to perform nursing tasks and lift equipment weighing up to 15 kg.
- Access to a reliable vehicle for participant visits and equipment transport.
- Ability to drive to local and/or remote locations for participant visits.
- Ability to use technology effectively for participant assessments and documentation, including study care equipment, laptop computers, communication devices, and tablets.
- Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- Full COVID vaccination strongly preferred; vaccination recommendations follow CDC guidelines, which may change.
- At least 2 years of clinical or research experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide research nursing services to qualified study participants at home.
- Apply clinical research and nursing practices to develop solutions to complex problems.
- Collaborate with Lead and Per Diem Mobile Research Nurses on solution development, education, and resource support.
- Participate in activities that further the operational development of Science 37 nursing service delivery.
- Build relationships with study team members and serve as the subject matter expert on nursing processes.
- Represent the company positively in participants’ homes or clinic settings.
- Travel as needed for participant visits, project team meetings, and other professional meetings or conferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned as Science 37’s needs evolve and change.
