Per Diem Clinical Research Nurse - Home Visits
About The Position
Science 37’s Nursing Solutions Group organizes, plans, and implements mobile clinical nurse services for clinical trial participants. The group collaborates with clinicians, clinical researchers, patient recruitment specialists, data managers, and technology developers throughout the trial life cycle, from protocol development and feasibility analysis through implementation and closeout. The Per Diem Mobile Research Nurse is a Registered Nurse with experience across multiple therapeutic areas who works independently and integrates with the Nursing Solutions Group. The nurse delivers care to participants in Science 37’s decentralized model and may collaborate with traditional clinical sites on shared trial implementation. The role ensures professional patient care in compliance with federal and state regulations, Good Clinical Practice, and Standard Operating Procedures. It is a travel position requiring on-site visits to participants’ homes, with minimal supervision. The position reports to the Manager, Nursing Solutions Group. The starting pay range is generally $50–$55 per hour, varying by location, work performed, qualifications, and experience. Employees may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses and commissions.
Requirements
- Active RN licensure in the nurse’s home state and eligibility for Compact Licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Active driver’s license.
- Weekday and night availability.
- Dedicate a minimum of 1–2 days per week to supporting Science 37 study visits.
- Willingness to travel to participants’ homes; travel may be up to 100% as needed.
- Ability to obtain nursing licensure in multiple states based on study needs.
- Physical ability to perform nursing tasks and lift equipment weighing up to 15 kg.
- Access to a reliable vehicle for study participant visits and equipment transport.
- Ability to drive to local and/or remote locations for study participant visits.
- Ability to use technology effectively and appropriately for participant assessments and documentation, including study participant care equipment, laptop computers, communication devices, and tablets.
- Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Nice To Haves
- BSN degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of clinical or research experience preferred.
- Full COVID vaccination strongly preferred; Science 37 follows CDC vaccination recommendations, which may change.
Responsibilities
- Provide research nursing services to qualified study participants at home.
- Apply clinical research and nursing practices to develop solutions to complex problems.
- Collaborate with Lead and Per Diem Mobile Research Nurses on solutioning, education, and resource support.
- Participate in activities that further the operational development of Science 37’s nursing service delivery.
- Develop relationships with study team members and serve as the subject matter expert on nursing processes.
- Represent the company positively in participants’ homes or clinic settings.
- Travel as needed for study participant visits, project team meetings, and other professional meetings or conferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned as Science 37’s needs evolve.
