Per Diem Clinical Research Nurse - Home Visits
About The Position
The Per Diem Mobile Research Nurse is a Registered Nurse who works per diem and has experience across multiple therapeutic areas. The nurse works independently and integrates with Science 37’s Nursing Solutions Group, delivering care to clinical trial participants under Science 37’s decentralized model and collaborating with traditional clinical sites when needed. The role ensures professional patient care in compliance with federal and state regulations, Good Clinical Practice, and Standard Operating Procedures. This is a travel role involving on-site visits to participants’ homes. The nurse provides study visits and related participant care, collaborates with nursing colleagues and study teams, and supports the operational development of Science 37’s nursing service delivery. The role has minimal supervision and reports to the Manager, Nursing Solutions Group.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the home state and eligibility for Compact Licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active driver’s license.
- Availability to support study visits at least 1–2 days per week.
- Weekday and night availability.
- Willingness to travel to participants’ homes; travel may be up to 100% as needed.
- Ability to obtain nursing licenses in multiple states based on study needs.
- Physical ability to perform nursing tasks and lift equipment weighing up to 15 kg.
- Access to a reliable vehicle for study participant visits and equipment transport.
- Ability to drive to local and remote locations for participant visits.
- Ability to use technology effectively for participant assessments and documentation, including care equipment, laptop computers, communication devices, and tablets.
- Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of clinical or research experience preferred.
- Full COVID vaccination strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide research nursing services to qualified study participants in their homes.
- Apply clinical research and nursing practices to develop solutions to complex problems.
- Collaborate with Lead and Per Diem Mobile Research Nurses on solution development, education, and resource support.
- Participate in activities that further the operational development of Science 37’s nursing service delivery.
- Build relationships with study team members and serve as the subject matter expert on nursing processes.
- Deliver care to participants and collaborate with traditional clinical sites when indicated for shared clinical trial implementation.
- Represent the company positively in participants’ homes or clinic settings.
- Travel for study participant visits, project team meetings, and other professional meetings or conferences as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned as Science 37’s needs evolve.
