About The Position

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years television news anchor/reporter experience covering Sports.
• BA or BS in Journalism, Communications or related field.
• This is an AFTRA-union represented position. If not now a member, membership will be required upon hire.
• Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered for this position.
• Must be able to travel and work longer hours with short notice when necessary.
• Must be willing to work in Chicago, IL.
• Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Nice To Haves

• Very knowledgeable of all Chicago sports teams and personnel
• Must be able to work varied work schedules during the week and work weekends when needed.
• Must have strong speech skills to communicate and present effectively on-air during live broadcasts, during breaking news situations and able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, individually as well as with co-anchors.
• Must have excellent interviewing skills.
• Must be able to handle working under the pressure of intense deadlines on a regular basis.
• Must have excellent computer skills and ability to work with a variety of computer applications.

Responsibilities

• providing anchored sports segment(s) for newscasts
• function in Sports Anchor and Reporter roles, both for on-air and on Station's web site, or another digital platform as assigned
• gathering information on many current sports events, games and personalities and preparing the information for live on-air broadcast presentation
