About The Position

WYFF 4, the NBC affiliate in Greenville, South Carolina, is hiring a Traffic/Breaking News Anchor. The position prepares and delivers morning traffic reports using dynamic graphics, researches current traffic conditions, and communicates traffic information to viewers through broadcasts and digital platforms. The anchor also produces transportation-related stories, presents traffic information in the field, and produces and anchors breaking news updates during the morning newscast as directed by news management. The role requires strong storytelling, on-air presence, audience engagement, and collaboration with producers and anchors.

Requirements

Professional or college experience as a journalist and storyteller at a commercial television station.
Ability to ad-lib in breaking news situations.
Clear speech.
Basic knowledge of computer use and social media.
Familiarity with street and highway names and directions, with the ability to learn quickly.
Creativity and ability to work well with others.

Nice To Haves

Experience using traffic systems is preferred.
Related military experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Prepare the morning report with dynamic graphics.
Gather news for traffic reports.
Provide concise live traffic reports for the morning show and, as needed, evening shows.
Research and report up-to-the-minute traffic conditions.
Promptly communicate important traffic information to show producers and anchors.
Ensure corresponding graphics, video, and live shots are used accurately.
Communicate morning traffic information through the station website, mobile app, and social media pages.
Produce transportation-related stories and present traffic information in the field.
Produce and anchor breaking news updates during the morning newscast at the direction of news management.
