About The Position

KVVU, FOX5, Gray Media’s station in Las Vegas, is hiring a News Anchor/Reporter. The position combines anchoring and reporting each workday. The anchor/reporter will generate strong story ideas and produce and report stories for on-air and digital channels. All anchors also report, and this role is suited to journalists who prioritize reporting while seeking regular time at the anchor desk. Daily anchoring is typically one hour, but may vary by assignment. FOX5 produces 16 hours of local news each weekday. The position requires experience handling breaking news and live field coverage.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience as a reporter and anchor in a television newsroom.
• Demonstrated ability to conceive and pitch strong enterprise (original) story ideas that support the FOX5 “Local Las Vegas” brand.
• Strong writing skills.
• Ability to tell engaging stories through visual mediums.
• Experience handling breaking news and live field coverage.

Nice To Haves

• A college degree is preferred but not required.
