About The Position

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for a variety of machine-specific functions, including but not limited to cutting copper using a saw according to blueprint specifications, setting up header punches, operating T-drills or drill presses, cutting connections, programming CNC machines, operating CNC machines to produce headers, and cleaning headers by removing burrs and connection fillings. You will also be responsible for identifying and prioritizing work, setting up machinery, performing tool changes and changeovers, loading programs/inputs, performing daily preventative maintenance (PMs) on machinery and equipment, using proper tools, bunching, labeling, and staging parts, practicing exceptional housekeeping, and understanding lock-out/tag-out procedures.

Requirements

  • Machine operator experience is preferred
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • The ability to understand and convert decimals and fractions
  • Detailed oriented
  • Computer skill
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to move at least 50lbs
  • Ability to stand and use hand tools 8-10hrs per day
  • Wear the necessary PPE for the position

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience preferred (will certify in-house)

Responsibilities

  • Cut copper using saw with consideration given to blueprint specification of the size of copper, measuring the pattern, and position of adapter holes
  • Set up header punch including changing parts for size and drilling
  • Operate T-drill or drill press
  • Cut connections
  • Ability to program CNC based on the order including programs not already entered
  • Operate CNC to get a header
  • Clean headers by removing burrs and connections fillings from headers and connections
  • Identify, confirm, and prioritize work to be performed
  • Set up machinery and perform tool changes as needed
  • Ability to perform changeovers
  • Load programs/inputs into the machine control
  • Operators perform daily PMs on machinery and equipment used
  • Use proper tools on the machine
  • Bunch, label, and stage parts for the next manufacturing process
  • Perform and record daily preventative maintenance on machines
  • Practice exceptional housekeeping
  • Understand lock out, tag out
