Machine Operator 1st Shift
About The Position
Catania Oils is hiring a Machine Operator for its first-shift operations team in Ayer, Massachusetts. The company is a fourth-generation, family-owned business in the edible oils industry. The role involves operating production-line equipment, completing changeovers, monitoring production and equipment effectiveness, performing quality checks, maintaining documentation, and keeping the work area clean and safe. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:50 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at $22.00 per hour. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience; food-industry experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and multitasking skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Nice To Haves
- Food-industry manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, and GMPs.
Responsibilities
- Operate and change over production-line equipment, including fillers, cappers, labelers, case packers, and palletizers.
- Read work orders and verify supplies such as bottles, caps, and labels.
- Monitor production rates and equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Perform quality checks and maintain accurate documentation.
- Keep the work area clean and safe throughout the shift.
