About The Position

The Machine Operator performs equipment set-ups, makes minor adjustments, and operates packaging equipment. The role includes identifying acceptable or unacceptable product quality according to customer requirements, and washing and changing over equipment. Machine Operators must be reliable and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.

This position works the third shift, from 10:55 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend work may be required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be knowledgeable in GMPs and the HACCP program, or willing to learn.
• Sufficient math skills to calculate material quantities required for production orders.
• Good organizational and communication skills to prioritize work and communicate changes to line workers.
• Ability to handle small tools.
• Ability to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to work well with others and communicate respectfully and professionally.
• Ability to stand for up to 80% of scheduled work time.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted and 40–75 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to work necessary overtime based on staffing needs and customer demand, as well as across shifts.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate equipment set-ups in preparation for particular product runs.
• Operate equipment and make adjustments as needed to ensure correct operation and compliance with quality specifications.
• Inspect and test packages, and document results to verify equipment operation and product quality.
• Stage and check required materials to support quick and accurate production changeovers.
• Complete and assemble all required position-related documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform equipment washing and changeovers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
