About The Position
Machine/Sanitation Operators operate machinery to maintain the continuous flow of product through the production process, ensure the correct ingredients and supplies are used on the line, and sanitize equipment. They monitor and adjust machine settings as needed and notify a supervisor if maintenance is required. The role involves maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. Operators may work in any department of the meat-processing facility and may perform equipment sanitation. Applicants will be considered for available Operator-level openings; placement and pay level depend on the availability of relevant labor-level positions. Possible roles include Extended Run (Sanitation), Machine Operator, Oven Operator, Relief Operator, Spice Room Operator, and Utility Operator. The position is on 3rd shift. Starting pay is $23.35 per hour, with a $1-per-hour shift premium for 3rd shift. Benefits are effective on the first day. The successful candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, including working in cold, damp conditions and on slippery surfaces.
Requirements
- At least 3 months of work experience with the same employer listed on the application.
- Proficiency in reading and writing.
- Ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and communicate effectively across all management levels.
- Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 pounds; standing, walking, bending, squatting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching; standing for 8–10 hours on hard floors; and performing repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in a cold environment around the mid-30s Fahrenheit, a damp environment, and on slippery walking surfaces.
Nice To Haves
- At least 3 months of Machine Operator experience in a manufacturing setting.
