About The Position
EquipmentShare is hiring a Low Voltage Technician at its rental facility in Charleston, West Virginia. The role installs and repairs the company’s telematics systems and devices on vehicles, construction and heavy equipment, and customer assets. Installations range from basic power, ignition, and ground connections to complex wiring harnesses and CAN network access. The technician may operate machinery to test installations, travel to customer sites and regional EquipmentShare rental yards, and represent the EquipmentShare platform and brand in the field. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. The role is subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation. Occasional work outside business hours and on weekends may be required. Travel within 250 miles of the local branch, for up to a week at a time, is required. This is a safety-sensitive position. Employment is contingent on passing a background check, and the role requires passing a 10-panel drug screen. Some customer worksites may require technicians to be clean-shaven.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with iPhone or mobile phone technology and basic computer navigation.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hands and tools.
- Hard-working, eager to learn, mechanically inclined, and attentive to detail.
- Experience in a related field, such as electrical work, HVAC, car audio installation, mobile electronics installation, automotive electronics, or 12V technology.
- Own tools; a few specialty tools will be provided.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
- Willingness to travel within a 250-mile radius of the local branch for up to a week at a time.
- Ability to drive and maneuver in tight spaces, bend, squat, walk long distances, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities
- Install telematics systems and devices on vehicles, construction equipment, heavy equipment, and customer assets.
- Operate machinery at times during installation to test equipment and installations.
- Remove and replace ignition systems without custom keypads and controllers, then integrate communication between keypad and telematics systems.
- Complete installations ranging from basic power, ignition, and ground connections to complex custom wiring harnesses involving CAN networks.
- Identify and resolve problems, gather and analyze information, and develop alternative solutions when needed.
- Travel to client sites and EquipmentShare rental yards throughout the region for installations.
- Represent and advocate for the EquipmentShare platform of solutions and brand while working in the field.
- Work outside regular business hours and on weekends occasionally, and participate in on-call scheduling.
