About The Position

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent in another pay system is required.
• Specialized experience must include expertise in federal and agency logistics concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to mobility planning, cargo and passenger movement, supply chain management, equipment and vehicle management, and deployment planning.
• Knowledge of air mobility and airlift operations, including the capabilities, restrictions, and limitations of organic and contracted aircraft within a joint organizational structure.
• Knowledge of logistics management, including vehicle maintenance, warehousing, deployment planning and operations, personal property movement, global fuels and cryogenics, quality assurance, and planning under peacetime and wartime conditions.
• Knowledge of joint staff functions and operations and the roles, responsibilities, and interactions of J directorates, including Operations Planning Groups.
• Ability to plan, prepare, and coordinate mobility operations with other U.S. Government organizations.
• Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to meet objectives and make effective use of resources.
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately, both orally and in writing.
• Merit promotion applicants must meet the applicable federal time-in-grade requirement; one year at GS-11 is required for GS-12.
• Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.
• Must meet requirements for a pre-deployment physical examination and medical examination for overseas or deployed locations.
• May be required to obtain an official passport and, as appropriate, hold a valid driver's license.
• Males must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
• Must be able to meet requirements associated with an Emergency Essential and KEY position, including possible deployment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the mobility activities of SOCNORTH.
• Develop and publish daily, weekly, monthly, and annual logistics reports to ensure accountability of resources and support planning and execution of SOCNORTH operations.
• Serve as the mobility liaison for exercise and operational planning.
• Protect, handle, and safeguard classified national security information and sensitive materials in accordance with applicable executive orders, Department of War regulations, and SOCNORTH security policies.
• Plan, prepare, and coordinate mobility operations with other U.S. Government organizations in support of SOCNORTH missions.
• Analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to meet program requirements and objectives while optimizing available resources.
• Communicate information and coordinate operations orally and in writing.
