About The Position

Requirements

• Medical insurance experience is preferred.
• Ability to multitask and work well with others.
• Strong oral and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A and B, influenza, and COVID-19. Accommodation or exception requests will be considered case by case, consistent with applicable laws.

Nice To Haves

• Medical insurance experience.
• CPR+ experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform benefit investigations for new and existing patients.
• Submit prior authorizations to insurance plans through portals, fax, or phone.
• Check the status of submitted prior authorizations with insurance providers.
• Extend existing authorizations already on file.
• Work with nursing staff regarding patients’ benefits and coverage.
• Answer calls about authorization status, insurance coverage, and other patient questions.
• Complete patient financial responsibility forms when necessary.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
