About The Position

The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Vice President of Human Resources and the HR department. This role is responsible for executing day-to-day HR processes, maintaining accurate employee records, assisting with recruiting and onboarding, supporting benefits and compliance activities, and serving as a first point of contact for routine employee inquiries. This position is essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR function. By managing execution-level HR tasks and employees support, the HR Assistant plays a key role in enabling HR leadership to focus on strategic initiatives that support organizational success.

Requirements

  • Possession of strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accepting direction on given assignments.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Previous experience in use of HR software.
  • An Associate’s degree or higher in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in HR administration.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee files (electronic and physical)
  • Enter, update, and audit employee data in the HRIS and related systems.
  • Reviewing and screening of applications, candidate communication and scheduling of interviews.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefits, PTO, and leave policies.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations including documentation of I-9s, W-4s and policy acknowledgments.
  • Track completion of required training (harassment prevention, safety, compliance).
  • Maintain organized records to support audits, reviews and investigations.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for general HR inquiries.
  • Provide direct administrative support to the VP of Human Resources as assigned.
  • Duties and responsibilities can be changed, expanded, reduced or deleted to meet business needs of the company.
