About The Position
Primary Purpose: To clean assigned areas of the hospital and to maintain the hospital in a sanitary, orderly and attractive condition. The policies associated with the job’s purpose and essential responsibilities are set by others. Makes decisions on areas that need cleaning in the absence of the Environmental Services Manager. No formal supervisory responsibility. Unusual Working Conditions: Working with chemicals; risk of blood, body fluid contamination.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines
- knowledge of waste and infectious waste and chemicals
- knowledge of proper use of personal protective equipment
Nice To Haves
- High school education or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Removing trash & linen
- bio waste throughout facility
- conference setups
- patient room discharge cleaning
- daily room cleaning
- emergency room cleaning
- terminal cleaning of surgical suites
- utilizing floor scrubbers, burnishers/buffers
- hanging & replacing curtains
- stocking supplies
- stocking linen as needed
- other department tasks as needed
