About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience in software engineering or related experience; OR a master's degree or equivalent in one of those fields.
• Experience providing support for Unix and Linux systems.
• Experience influencing system architecture design and tactical solutions.
• Experience creating automated solutions to improve deployment processes.
• Experience developing shell and Python scripts to automate redundant manual tasks.
• Experience identifying issues and analyzing monitoring graphs with tools including Jira, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
• Experience designing and implementing alerting-tool integrations with API endpoints using tools such as ServiceNow and GitHub.
• Experience participating in root-cause analysis, analyzing trends to prevent incidents, documenting recommendations, and following onboarding processes for systems entering service.
• Experience onboarding applications to automation, supporting them in production, and transferring knowledge to application teams.
• Experience supporting cloud technologies, including cloud-native platforms and Microsoft Azure, using internal and vendor tools for critical-issue triage.
• Experience using Informix and MySQL database queries to extract and manipulate data.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments while developing relationships with key stakeholders.
• Support plans and initiatives that meet customer and business needs; identify goals and objectives and address improvement opportunities.
• Analyze and scope business, stakeholder, and technical requirements, including risk and cost analysis, requirement classification, and user stories.
• Prepare and maintain traceability among business requirements, functional requirements, designs, and test cases.
• Contribute user stories for component, module, or simple requirements.
• Create and configure code for components or applications and help select appropriate languages, development standards, and tools.
• Build scripts to automate repetitive tasks in CI/CD, testing, and other processes.
• Identify and create test cases, execute tests, and detect component-level errors and defects.
• Track and analyze defects, conduct regression testing, perform root-cause analysis, and analyze past defects to help prevent recurrence.
• Troubleshoot application performance and availability bottlenecks.
• Conduct complex application maintenance independently and monitor application performance using appropriate metrics.
• Perform corrective, adaptive, and perfective maintenance and re-engineering activities.
• Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, and performance data; evaluate change requests for validity and feasibility.
• Review program metrics, reporting, and logging to monitor project adherence to approved milestones and timelines.
• Support Unix and Linux systems and cloud technologies, including cloud-native platforms and Microsoft Azure.
• Create automated deployment solutions and shell and Python scripts to automate redundant manual tasks.
