About The Position

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks an Emergency Department Technician for their Emergency department responsible for rendering direct and indirect patient care under direction of appropriate licensed personnel. Facilitates care to meet patient’s daily living activity needs by providing clerical, physical and emotional support while assisting licensed personnel in management of critically ill patients. Assists with workflow of unlicensed assistive personnel in the department.

Requirements

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • California Emergency Medical Technician certification or CA Emergency Medical Technician–Paramedic certification, or National EMT certification.

Nice To Haves

  • High school grad or equivalent.
  • Ability to use computer charting (electronic medical record) and computer order entry.
  • Patient Care Tech or equivalent experience in an acute care, emergency or pre-hospital setting.
