About The Position

The Emergency Department Technician is an unlicensed, non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients, and helps maintain a safe environment. The technician works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

This position is at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. It is a part-time role with an evening schedule and 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current EMT certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, if required by the state.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients.
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
