About The Position

Join Valleywise Health's Emergency Department, part of Arizona's only public teaching hospital and a nationally recognized Level I Trauma Center. The Emergency Department Tech works alongside emergency medicine professionals to care for complex and critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment. The role contributes clinical expertise, critical thinking, and adaptability to patient assessments, emergency interventions, stabilization, and coordinated multidisciplinary care, while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification by the Arizona State Board of Nursing as a CNA, or certification as an EMT by the Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services; Trauma System for EMTs, or a nationally recognized equivalent certificate.
• BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
• Knowledge of EKG lead placement.
• Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse people.
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
• Must complete an approved phlebotomy class, splinting and traction class, and Valleywise Health computer class within six months of employment.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of relevant nursing-related or emergency services-related experience is preferred.
• Previous acute care hospital experience is preferred.
• Bilingual ability is preferred.
