About The Position

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) performs routine service duties and basic nursing procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort, and safety of patients in the Emergency and Trauma Center.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Froedtert Health incumbents hired before October 1, 2007 may substitute the stated communication abilities for this education requirement.
• One of the following is required: State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician license, Certified Medical Assistant status (or 3 years of experience in lieu of Medical Assistant certification), or State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant certification.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS), or an AHA-approved equivalent, must be completed within 30 days.
